The Regis M Farmer Scholarship Fund was the brainchild of Father Regis himself. He had a vision of helping needy Catholic youth grow in their faith by experiencing it in action at youth rallies, work camps, seminars, etc. He felt if needy young men and women got to experience events that their faith and lives would be better and more positive.  Throughout his career as a priest in the Diocese of Pittsburgh he positively impacted thousands of lives.   

Father Farmer was a graduate of St. Norbert Elementary School, St. Justin High School, and earned his B.A. from St. Vincent College.  He earned a Master of Divinity from St. Vincent Seminary in 1972, B.Ed from Duquesne University in 1979 and a Doctor of Ministry from Pittsburgh Theological Seminary in 1997.  He was Ordained to the Priesthood on May 5, 1973 by Bishop Vincent M. Leonard at St. Paul Cathedral in Oakland.  He served as Parochial Vicar at St. Angela Merici Parish, White Oak, 1973-1977, Deanery Youth Director, Mon Yough Deanery, 1973-1976, Chaplain of Penn State University, McKeesport, 1973-1976, Assistant Director of Vocations, 1977-1980, Dean of Studies at St. Paul Seminary, 1978-1979, Headmaster of Lawrenceville Catholic High School, Lawrenceville, 1979-1982, Chaplain of Education, California University of PA, 1982-1984, Director of Catholic Youth Ministry, 1984-1986, Director of Chaplaincies and Campus Ministry, 1986-1994, Administrator of Our Lady of Victory Parish, Harwick, 1988-1994, Pastor of St. Catherine of Sweden Parish, Hampton, 1995-2012, and Pastor of St. Maria Goretti Parish, Bloomfield, 2012-2017.  Fr. Farmer additionally served on staff at Boyle High School, 1975-1976, Chaplain at Auberle Home for Boys, 1976-1977, Priest Personnel Board, 1986-1994, Chaplain for Knights of Columbus, 1991-2017, Priest Council, 2004-2006, and College of Consultors, 2004-2017.

This Fund which was started by Fr Regis continues as a tribute and memorial to his life and his vision that the more we do to engage Catholic Youth the better their lives and the better the Church will be in the future.
